With Fall right around the corner & temperatures beginning to show it, we’ve been working hard to enjoy every last drop that Summer has to offer. Which means, you can usually find us hanging outside on the weekends or right around happy hour. One of our favorite treats is to add some fruit to the grill. Here are some of our best tips & toppings to get you started on the grill!

Be patient. Let your grill preheat to a medium-high heat. Starting too soon might make your fruit stick to the grates & you wont get those beautiful charred lines.

Serve it hot. With such a short cook time, your fruit will come out warm while cool & juicy on the inside!

Grilled peach, topped with ice cream & cinnamon-sugar walnuts.

  • Lightly brush the inside of your sliced peach with some olive oil & place it cut side down directly on your grill for ~3 min. or until you see the charred lines. (I find flipping the peach can make it mushy so I only cook the cut side.)
  • To make the cinnamon-sugar walnuts, mix a handful of crushed walnuts with ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon & ½ teaspoon of sugar. (You could also try swapping the sugar for some salt to get a pop of savory in your toppings!)

Grilled watermelon with sugar, sea salt & lime.

  • After slicing your watermelon, lightly sprinkle both sides with sugar & salt. Let your slices rest for around 15 min. And soak up any extra moisture off the watermelon by pressing firmly on them with some paper towels.
  • Add some oil to your grates so the watermelon won’t stick to them, grill each side for 2-3 min. or until those famous charred lines show up. Before serving, sprinkle on a little more sugar & salt, then top with a fresh squeeze of lime!
